Work / Specialty food retail
20% more orders after moving an unsupported shop to Shopify.
An ageing WooCommerce shop and a separate classes website, replaced by one modern, secure store.
The starting point
Specialty food retail
The shop ran on WooCommerce with around 47 plugins, two themes and a page builder, on a WordPress install that was out of support and couldn't be safely updated. Cookery classes and gift vouchers were sold on a separate website, and reporting stopped at page views.
What we did
- Moved 234 products into Shopify and brought the classes, private sessions and gift vouchers into the same store, with every class date bookable on its own.
- Mapped 372 old addresses to their new pages so search rankings and existing links carried over.
- Restored ingredients and allergen information on 72 products, and added nutrition and sulphite details from supplier spec sheets.
- Set up Consent Mode v2 tied to the store's cookie banner, and tracked the whole journey to purchase: 11 GA4 ecommerce events through Google Tag Manager.
- Connected GA4 and Search Console to an AI assistant for monthly reporting, so each month's decisions start from real sales data.
- Launched a welcome email with a first-order offer and reusable newsletter templates.
- Put both domains behind Cloudflare with SSL and HTTPS enforced, then archived the old site in full so its hosting could be cancelled.
Results
What changed
- 20% increase in orders.
- Day-to-day operations 50% more efficient, with one store to run instead of two websites.
- The share of Google visitors who buy rose from 2.5% to 4.2% within two months of launch.
- The email list grew from 106 to 249 subscribers.
- Faster site updates and lower infrastructure costs.
More work
Different sectors, same approach.
Termwise: 26,000+ school pages built from public sources, and every figure checked.
Our own data product: AI extraction with verification, a free service for families and a paid API for businesses.
A focused lead-generation site instead of 50 pages nobody reads.
We advised a smaller, sharper site and built it on WordPress with no page-builder licence and automated QA.
